Meet Amel, Specifier

I am Amel Mahi-Ghoul, specifier for Knauf Insulation in France. I cover a region from Ile-de-France to the Hauts-de-France (in Lille).
What is your job?
A specifier is in charge of going to see the different stakeholders in the building industry, well upstream of the projects, to promote our solutions.
That's a lot of trading, a lot of discussion on the building sites, about their needs.
What could be your typical day?
A typical day of a specifier, there is a lot of phone calls... You have to call at least 30 times before having maybe two or three appointments and you have to take the car and take the road.
Which project makes you most proud?
The project I'm working on at the moment, is the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
This is the construction of a whole Olympic village. To be prescribed in this kind of buildings, it is huge. I can see myself later in front of the Olympics buildings, saying "I was part of the insulation project of this building". So yes, it's very nice.
